It is often believed that juices can provide a much higher amount of vitamins than fruit and vegetables can, therefore it can be enjoyed without any problems in everyday life. Vitamins are often equated with all the necessary substances that the body needs.

However, vitamins are only a part of the so-called vital substances, to which the
Minerals
Trace elements
Fibres
Ferments (enzymes)
Flavorings
Unsaturated fatty acids
count.

Juices therefore contain vitamins, but also other biological substances that are necessary to process the vitamins contained in the juice. The problem with juices is that precisely these active ingredients remain in the juicer and the „drunk“ vitamins cannot be used by the body at all!

Think about how long it would take to eat 1oz of carrots. Each bite must be chewed thoroughly and salivated and then processed in the stomach and intestines until the nutrients are absorbed through the intestinal wall and transported to the blood. Now imagine this amount of carrots as 1 big glass of juice. How long do you think will it take to drink it? I don’t think it would take very long…

The slow process of digestion described above can’t take place, so the pancreas, under stress, tries to produce enough insulin, which makes the blood glucose curve looks like a ride on a rollercoaster and puts an enormous stress on the pancreas. In the worst case – that is, if you drink juice very frequently – this can even lead to diabetes

Unfortunately it makes no difference at all whether the juice is freshly bought 🙂 or freshly squeezed. The necessary active ingredients get stuck in the juicer at home as well as in the factory, so the water-soluble vitamins in the juice cannot be used and the hoped-for positive effect does not take place.

To illustrate this, imagine you would drink „bread juice“. So a whole loaf of bread pressed as juice, which logically would be drunk quickly, whereas you would chew on a whole loaf of bread for quite a long time… Don’t mind that nobody would come up with this idea, nor would had enough hunger. 🙂

Please get me right. There is an essential difference between a healthy person who drinks a glass of juice occasionally and a person with a weakened organism who drinks juices every day in order to apparently reach the desired daily vitamin dose. Juices are also helpful in the context of a juice cleanse, since solid food is temporarily avoided and the juices are considered „main meals“.

So, as always, the right amount is important 🙂
